Our Policy

1. Research & Preparation We prioritize inquiries from families who are well-informed about our specific processes. It is essential that you research our program thoroughly before contacting us.

Please note: If your inquiry asks questions that are clearly addressed on our website, we will assume you have not yet completed the necessary research and your message will not be prioritized for a reply.

2. Application & Availability Please note that our standard application is strictly for families ready to join our paid waitlist.

If you prefer not to join the waitlist, you must monitor our Ragdoll Kittens For Sale page. In the event that a kitten becomes available after our waitlist has made their selections, a specific "Individual Inquiry Form" will be provided on that page for each kitten.

3. Deposit Policy All deposits, including those for our waitlist and specific kitten reservations, are strictly non-refundable. These fees secure your placement and represent a commitment to our program. In the event that you are unable to proceed with an adoption, the deposit will be forfeited. We ask that you only place a deposit once you are fully committed to welcoming a River Haze Ragdoll into your home.

4. Health & Privacy Protocol We take the bio-security of our cattery and the privacy of our home very seriously. Because we are a small, family-run operation raising two young children, we do not host home visitations. This policy protects our animals from outside pathogens and allows our family to maintain a private, secure environment. If time allows, I will gladly provide a video in view of not being able to meet the kittens beforehand, but understand that this is not our priority. A great deal of time has already been put into our professional grade photos and descriptions of each kitten. We meet all our new families at our designated veterinary location for a safe and professional hand-off.

5. Understanding Our Boundaries We strictly adhere to our established protocols to ensure the health of our kittens and the privacy of our young family.

Visitation Policy: We are not open to the public. Please understand that our home is where our children grow, and we maintain a strict bio-security bubble. We do not make exceptions for local residents, nor do we make exceptions to see our cats in person before any commitments are made. This goes entirely against the bio-security protocol we've established as mentioned in point 4.
Fair Pricing: To remain fair to all our waitlisted families, we do not negotiate on price. We are proud to offer a $500 multi-kitten discount for those looking to keep siblings together.

Please note that asking for exceptions to these policies indicates that our program may not be the right fit for you. We reserve the right to not pursue any applicant.

6. Communication River Haze Ragdolls is a family-run operation. To provide the best care for our cats and our children, we adhere to the following:

Business Hours: Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. We are closed on weekends and holidays.
Expectations: Please allow 2 business days for a reply. We value thoughtful communication over immediate responses.
Note: Respect for our time and boundaries is a requirement for all potential adopters. Inquiries that repeatedly disregard these hours may not receive a response.

7. Pick-up Timeline All pickups must be done within our hours of operation, as also stated in our footer.

We hold a strict 2-week grace period for picking up your kitten/cat from the time they are ready to leave our care. This policy has been put in place to avoid delays caused by unnecessary personal scheduling changes, as we carefully plan each kitten/cat's transition to their new home. We take adoption very seriously. If the timing is not suitable, the application and reservation deposit should not be submitted, as it is important that bringing the kitten/cat home is a priority once approved.

After the 2-week grace period, our standard boarding rate of $65 per night applies. Every 7th consecutive night is complimentary. This rate applies to any additional boarding stays, as we are happy to provide a familiar and comfortable environment for your kitten/cat when needed.
